How it works

Step 1

Waste deposit

The system has two perforated stainless steel bins with airtight lids. To start with, use the first bin. While one bin is actively processing waste, the other is in a curing phase. This allows for a continuous composting process. The machine is designed to accommodate a quantity of 2 Kg per day

Step 2

Add saw dust

Cover the kitchen waste with a generous handful of sawdust or coir pith. This is your “brown” material and is crucial for balancing the carbon and nitrogen ratio. Covering the food scraps will also prevent pests and smother any odors. Close the lid by pushing it down. Keep it closed till you fill the next batch. Use the same bin till it gets filled up to the center stem level .

Step 3

Shift to second bin

Once the first bin is filled, keep it closed and start using the second bin. The compost stabilization is in process during this period. Follow the same process for the second bin as done for the first bin. During the process the chamber will be automatically heated due to the bacterial action. Towards the completion of composting the temperature will be reduced to ambient.

Step 4

Compost harvesting

After the second bin is filled, lift the first bin by pulling the handle. Take the bin out, empty the compost, and replace the bin in the same chamber. Start depositing the waste in this bin and follow the process. No need to clean the bin, as its residue contains bacteria that can accelerate the process
